The BSCI exam will be replaced by the ROUTE exam 642-902, available from March 10, 2010.
The exam 642-901 (BSCI) will be offered until July 31, 2010. Afterwards, only the new exam 642-902 (ROUTE) will be available. The BSCI exam will only be accepted for three years after passing the exam for a CCIP certification.
The CCIP is responsible for the planning, design and implementation of IP communications solutions for carriers, service providers, and operators of large networks where company-wide IP services are implemented.
The precondition is a valid CCNA certification.

| The students have the option to prepare themselves additionally and free of charge for the exams in the Cisco Learning Network. The CCIP certification will remain valid for three years. For CCIP recertification, it is sufficient to pass any exam from the series of Professional level courses in the area of general certifications. The passing of any CCIE theory exam also leads to the automatic recertification. |
