The sheer size of the ISP networks poses special demands on the competence of administrators and designers. A CCIE Service Provider is supposed to be able to perform all provider-relevant configurations in a large router network. As is usual on the Expert level, the certification not only demands comprehensive theoretical know-how. Practical experience with regard to protocols and Cisco components has to be proved in the scope of a lab exam. Candidates for the exam are recommended to study the subject intensively.
Course Contents
The course focuses on the hands-on preparation for the CCIE Service Provider lab exam. Special configurations and troubleshooting will be carried out. Knowledge gaps referring to the applied protocols and technologies can thus be closed systematically and within the appropriate context. The contents are, among others:
• Configuration of Active Network Components
• LAN and WAN Technologies
• Switching and Routing Protocols
• IP Multicasting
• MPLS
• Layer-2/3 VPNs
• Quality of Service
• Security Basics, Redundancy, and Management
In the CCIE Service Provider workshop, selected information is provided about the relevant protocols and the handled test scenarios.
Target Group
This particularly practice-oriented CCIE seminar was specifically created as a preparation for the CCIE Service Provider lab exam and therefore exclusively addresses students intending to take the CCIE Service Provider exam.
Knowledge Prerequisites
The CCIE Service Provider certification demands wide-ranging and profound know-how about networking technologies, as well as their implementation and configuration on Cisco systems, as can be proved with a CCIP certification or appropriate practical experience.
