With the introduction of the Cisco Nexus 1000v, a Distributed Virtual Switch within VMware vSphere 4, a solution has come available for administrators to enable networking to be fully based on Cisco technology. The Nexus 1000v offers you the possibilities of a normal Cisco switch to be configured with the Cisco CLI. The Cisco Nexus 1000v is only available on the virtual part of the network, but realizes a perfect bridge with your physical Cisco network infrastructure.
