Traditionally the network management department is in charge of the detection and solution of problems. Slow application? It is the fault of the network! A PC that hangs? Again: the network! A website that cannot be accessed? Once again it’s the network that is blamed...
But how often is the network truly the cause? An experienced network manager will now exclaim with conviction: "Rarely!" Practice proves that, indeed, it is usually not the network that is to blame, but another element in the ICT-facility. Yet how do you as the network manager prove that? How does the organisation save the time (and therefore the money) that goes into the detection of problems?
A network manager who is equipped with the right knowledge and tools will get to the root of the problem in the shortest possible time and will therefore be able to solve them. One of those tools is the protocol-analyzer, the only tool that shows what is actually going on in the network. Whether it is the GUI of the professional Sniffer or the one of the free-ware Ethereal/Wireshark, interpreting the data remains a difficult matter.
Course Contents
The following will be dealt with in this one-day training course:
• User Interface
• Practical application
• Profiling an application
The acquired knowledge is put into practice straight away. The starting point is your network infrastructure and the applications that use it.
Target Group
Let us help you to acquire the right knowledge to use the protocol-analyzer as effectively as possible for your network!
