The classical storage variant, Direct Attached Storage (DAS), no longer meets the requirements of modern IT environments. Many companies are therefore confronted with the decision whether they should implement a new storage concept. The prerequisite to make this decision is to know the advantages and disadvantages of the various technologies, as well as the solutions offered by the different vendors. The decisive point is not to select the technically feasible option, but rather to find the most appropriate solution under consideration of the cost aspects involved.
